Klopeiner See - Südkärnten

Experience Southern Carinthia on a hiking network stretching over 1,200 kilometers – from summit tours and panoramic loops to idyllic forest trails. Discover the geological diversity of the Geoparks Karawanken, the rocky Steiner Alps, and the gentle alpine pastures of the Saualpe and Koralpe.

Around Mount Petzen (1,700 m), you can look forward to lake panoramas, historic mining tunnels, and the Obir stalactite caves. The Petzen mountain railways as well as the bike and hiking shuttle make your tours even more convenient. After an eventful day, enjoy Carinthian Käsnudl or Kaiserschmarrn in rustic alpine huts.

With the Flow Country Trail on Mount Petzen, various single trails, and underground tunnel biking, the region offers true highlights for every mountain biker.
Tip: Domäne Lilienberg – this Carinthian winery is known as the “little Tuscany of Carinthia” and is renowned for its delicate white and sparkling wines. Guided tours and tastings are available on request.

 

 

Lavanttal

Explore the Lavanttal valley on more than 1,000 kilometers of marked hiking trails between gentle alpine pastures and impressive peaks. Enjoy panoramic views on the Saualpe, discover the geological diversity of the Koralpe, or take a walk along family-friendly themed trails such as Berni’s Ofenerlebnisweg.

The Panoramaweg Südalpen leads you to the adventure-filled Klippitztörl. Along the Lavantaler Höhenweg, you can experience the Weinebene, the Saualpe with the Speikkogel, and the Packalpe with the Packer reservoir. Pilgrimage routes such as the Benedict Trail open up new perspectives. Cozy alpine huts and the Lavanttal hiking bus make your hiking experience complete.

 

Mittelkärnten

In the region of Central Carinthia, an unspoilt, gentle natural landscape meets the historical heart of Carinthia. Numerous places invite you to explore by bike or on foot. Warm, clean bathing lakes provide relaxing moments.

Rich in cultural treasures, the region beckons with exciting journeys of discovery. Hochosterwitz Castle towers majestically - once you have reached the top, you can already spot the nearby Taggenbrunn Castle. It has been extensively restored in recent years. Magnificent vines thrive on the castle slopes.

If you want to know how a castle is built, you can look over the shoulders of the hard workers in Friesach. This is where a castle grows. They work according to medieval methods, just as they did 800 years ago. The Dalai Lama Tibet Centre in Hüttenberg/Görtschitztal is also worth a visit.

 

 

Carnica - Rosental

A paradise for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers. The varied landscape in the heart of the Karawanken offers impressive nature experiences, regional culinary delights and varied leisure fun for the whole family.

On easy walking trails, on more challenging mountain tours around the mountaineering village of Zell-Sele or in the Bodental valley. Fantastic panoramic views, cross-border tours and cosy sun terraces await you on the Panoramaweg Südalpen. The Drau Cycle Path (R1) is an absolute must for hobby cyclists and families. Region Nockberge

Bad Kleinkirchheim

Variety is the name of the game in the mountains around St. Oswald and Bad Kleinkirchheim, as well as in the family sports village of Feld am See. Speaking of sport: with Europe’s longest Flow Country Trail, Bad Kleinkirchheim is one of the mountain biking hotspots of southern Austria.

The autumn months in and around Bad Kleinkirchheim are equally diverse: from hikes for the whole family to the summit meeting of fine taste at the “Culinary Nights,” there is something for everyone.

Millstätter See

Surrounded by gentle mountains, Lake Millstätter See, Carinthia’s deepest lake, provides the backdrop for a varied holiday for couples or families.
